New and Changed FeaturesHere's an extensive listing of the changes in version 6 of Camtasia Studio:
Record:

1. Defaults to previous dimensions so you can record a series of videos consistently.
2. Added a "Restart" button for faster "Take 2" recordings.
3. Redesigned the interface so it can be used unobtrusively during live presentations, like a class.
4. Ability to turn cursor effects on and off during the recording.
5. Added an option to load Camtasia Recorder at system startup.

Edit:

1. You can unlink audio from video tracks for independent editing
2. Ability to move multiple clips together on the timeline.
3. 3D tilt option in the Zoom-n-Pan view.
4. Ability to import an MOV and edit it on the timeline.
5. Image size limitation of 1280x1024 maximum is removed.
6. Ability to adjust the Callouts fade in and out speed.
7. Hot keys added to streamline editing (C=callouts, T=transition, Z=zoom, M=marker, A=caption, S=split, E=extend frame).
8. Maintain the aspect ratio in Project Settings.
9. Transition speeds, callouts fades and image durations can now be 1/10th of a second (eg., 0.8 seconds or 3.2 seconds).

Produce:

1. A default Flash output which plays an MPEG4 file with H.264 video and AAC audio with great compression and quality, regardless of the content -- users don't have to choose between SWF and FLV.
2. Flash customization options.
3. Quiz opacity, so quizzes can be overlayed on top of images.
4. A free, enhanced Screencast.com integration (2GB storage and monthly transfer).
5. Increased keyboard accessibility of the flash output, including TOC, navigation, quizing, volume, etc.
6. A YouTube preset, which optimizes settings for YouTube delivery.

Some of the old features are removed such as:

1. FLV is replaced with Flash/MPEG4 as a production option. Flash/MPEG4 has better
   quality, file size and iPod playback.
2. Removed Audio Editor as a stand alone application (became superfluous as Audacity does a great job).
3. Callouts are replaced with ScreenPads.
4. Removed the Live Output driver from Camtasia Recorder
5. Removed the 'Add Index' option from WMV production. All WMV productions now have an index.
